Glasgow Missing Persons

The Detective Agency Glasgow received a telephone call from a 29-year old man. A couple had adopted this man immediately after his birth. He had a happy childhood but had lost his adoptive father when he was 9 years old. He had just recently lost his adoptive mother. He was an only child to this couple. He told our private investigator that his mother advised him on her deathbed to find the woman who gave birth to him. The mother revealed for the first time that she knew the young mother did not want to give him up, but her parents had pressured her to because of her age and their financial status. The client decided that he wanted to meet his birth mother and to establish a relationship with her if it interested her to do so. He had married and had two young children of his own whom he thought should meet their grandmother. He wanted to hire a private detective to find her. He had registered with the government to find his mother and got his original birth information. However he could not find any trace of this woman through his own research.

Missing Persons in Glasgow

Since our private detective had the woman's name from 29 years ago, he started an extensive search through public records using that name. The woman was on her second marriage and so our detective had to work through the complications of two name changes as she took her husbands' names. Public birth announcements revealed she gave birth to two children by her first husband and a third child by her second husband. Multiple addresses suggested that this woman moved often. At one point, local references to the birth mother disappeared. She had plainly left the immediate area with her second husband. Expanding the search boundaries from local to national levels, our private investigator found her again a small distance away. She had lived at the same address with the second husband for the past six years. Our private detective discovered that she worked as a receptionist at a stock brokerage. Not knowing whether the husband was aware of her having given birth at age 15, our investigator advised our client to try to contact her discreetly, perhaps at her workplace, first. Our detective also suggested that he write to her giving his contact information. Writing would avoid setting her up for an awkward face-to-face meeting for which she might not be ready or might not want. Fortunately, we found a current email address that she used so that he could contact her quickly. However, all the precautions were unnecessary as our client's birth mother had already told her husband about giving birth in her teens and that she gave up the child. And she told him that she had always hoped to connect with her first child someday, so meeting our client was of great interested to her.

Our client was appreciative that we could find his birth mother in less than a week. He had no idea how quickly our private investigator would uncover the information that would change his life and the life of his family. A follow-up about a year later found the client and his birth mother had developed a strong bond. Playing the role of grandmother to his children, our client's birth mother also clearly enjoyed the sudden expansion of her family.
