We had a telephone call from a woman who necessary to discover exactly where her husband was. He had left her and also the children but had not given her a forwarding address. She told us that though he came to see their kids when a week he didn’t give her any cash for them and with no an address for him she could not give his particulars to the CSA. He had changed his job when he left and she did not know where he was operating now. The only time she knew exactly where he was was when he came to see the youngsters.
We decided that to learn exactly where he was living and working we must fit a tracking device to his vehicle. This would tell us exactly where he was staying and where he was operating. The automobile belonged to our client so we could fit the device when he next came to visit the children. We suggested the device really should stay on the car for two weeks. This would ensure a good pattern of movements from the automobile.
We identified the data inside the first week and having a few follow up phone calls confirmed the data was right. We removed the device following two weeks and our client could give the details to the CSA. Our client then decided she wanted to know if he was cohabitating with an additional woman. We carried out surveillance on the home address we had identified for him. After three sessions of six hour slots we had sufficient evidence of cohabitation for our client to take to her solicitor.
We have since found out that she has filed for divorce on the ground of adultery and that he left her for this new woman. He has had to pay all of the arrears from the CSA.
